All of us are deeply appreciative for those who are risking their lives and putting their health on the lines to combat the devastating impact of COVID-19.
Saying thank you is not enough for the safety, protection, care, and comfort first responders are providing us, day in and day out, during a time of unrelenting challenge and uncertainty.
Now, more than ever, money matters. A little goes a long way. I know this because the tips my mother earned as a hotel housekeeper made a difference for me growing up. For anyone who’s worked in the service industry, tips have a direct impact on earnings.
That’s why we’re sharing TipGenie, a digital donation and cashless tipping platform we built to help service workers like my mom recovers earnings. And here we are: We need contactless ways to express our appreciation.
In a world where hotels are now hospitals, where grocery clerks are first responders and delivering packages has become a health hazard, I believe that cashless tipping can offer a vehicle for enabling the expression of thanks, empathy, and appreciation.
That’s why we’re providing free TipGenie accounts to first responders, front line workers, service employees, and their organizations. It’s our way of saying “thank you” so that we can enable others to do the same.
