We are realizing, as a world, how much we depend on the service workers who make our lives happier, comfortable, enjoyable, easier … better.

My mother, a hotel housekeeper inspired TipGenie’s mission: To help tipped workers recover the lost opportunity for tips through digital tipping. Growing up, the tips she earned made a difference. I always knew when someone tipped her $5 because she would take us to McDonald’s. I’m heartbroken that what’s happening is leaving millions of children are hungry, sad, and worried.
When we get through this, our society will have greater appreciation, empathy, and awareness of service workers’ financial health. This recovery effort must result in a better world for service workers. The cure for COVID-19 must be accompanied by a remedy for wage inequity and include financial protections when disasters like this happen.
TipGenie is committed to this call to action: We have patent-pending mobile technology that will enable tipping in what will be a cashless and touchless society.
